The Position


Organon's Worldwide Government Affairs and Policy team is a group of dedicated individuals who drive future-looking, solution-driven approaches to healthcare policy around the world.

As part of the team, the Director will partake in an array of activities, engagements, projects and platforms that positively impact and shape the women's health environment both in the United States and globally.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to draft formal comments related to federal and state regulatory action. Develop public policy positions and cover policy issues consistent with the company's business and public policy objectives relating to federal and state laws and regulations, in line with measures such as Executive Orders, including in women's health and biosimilars, as well as larger industryrelated topics such as the Affordable Care Act, the IRA, Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Individually and at the direction of the Chief Government Affairs and Policy Officer, develop policy proposals to improve the regulatory and statutory environment relevant to the business operations of the organization, particularly across women's health and biosimilars.
  • Engage directly with clinical and organizational stakeholders to understand their unique policy needs within women's health and biosimilars.
  • Represent our Company in externalfacing roles, including trade associations, thirdparty organizations, and other situations, as needed.
  • Think critically to build innovative solutions to complicated problems and identify legislative and rulemaking opportunities that could impact business goals.
  • Determine the potential impacts, risks, and opportunities of policy proposals through direct research and stakeholder feedback.
  • Draft materials that clearly and concisely explain specific policy challenges, opportunities, and their relevant context for internal and external audiences and develop and execute proactive policy and strategic plans to influence legislation and federal / state agency actions for both corporate and business/product specific initiatives.
  • Support organizational learnings designed to educate colleagues and internal stakeholders on emerging legislative and political issues of importance to Organon to effectively understand government advocacy.
  • Comprehend and abide by the company's code of conduct, policies and procedures and other corporate mandates, including participation in mandatory training programs.
  • Obtain clarification of policy whenever necessary and use the resources available through Legal and Compliance and/or Human Resources to do so.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • BS/BA
  • At least 8 years of experience in successful analysis and management of policy issues and activities related to health care and pricing/reimbursement policy.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing public policy shaping plans and tactics, as well as in analysis of legislative and regulatory proposals.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with highlevel executives in the larger healthcare industry and across various levels of State and Federal government.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with a passion for owning projects and driving them to completion. Skilled writer capable of adapting to a range of purposes, including formal regulatory comments, legislative outlines, and stakeholder education.
  • Strong budgetary and financial management and oversight, and a sense of accountability.
  • Ability to thrive in a crossfunctional team environment with a global, entrepreneurial team and mindset, and to collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders with a range of personal and professional beliefs, perspectives, and experiences.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills

  • Master's or graduate degree in a field related to health care policy.
  • Prior experience working across women's health or biosimilar issues.
  • Indepth knowledge of the Affordable Care Act, the IRA, Medicare, Medicaid, and the 340B program.
  • Experience in successfully establishing Jcodes.
