Physician Educator in Family Medicine

Position Summary:

As a physician educator in family medicine, you will play a vital role in fulfilling the UNC School of Medicine's mission of improving the health and wellbeing of North Carolinians and beyond through superior patient care, impactful research, and outstanding education.

  • Teach and mentor medical students, interns, residents, fellows, and other learners in clinical settings.
  • Develop a scholarly interest in the field and work with the larger team to improve access, reduce cost, improve quality, and promote efficiency and better health outcomes.
  • Engage in community outreach and professional events to assist with program development and building professional relationships.
  • Provide excellent patient care in outpatient and/or inpatient settings, depending on individual qualifications and interests.

Minimum Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board eligible or board certified in Family Medicine
  • Continuous certification in ACLS, PALS and ATLS

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Fellowship training and/or an advanced degree (e.g. MPH)
  • Clinical experience in an emergency department setting, urgent care, rural practice or teaching
