POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs all routine diagnostic Radiographic and Mammographic procedures through proper patient positioning, technique selection, administration of contrast media and application of immobilization and radiation protection devices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

Performs all routine diagnostic Radiographic and Mammographic procedures through proper patient positioning, technique selection, administration of contrast media and application of immobilization and radiation protection devices. Receives requests, checking for special instructions from the requesting physicians. Consults with radiologists as necessary. Greets patients in a timely and efficient manner--confirming their identifications, performing the correct procedures as directed, and completely explaining the procedure to patient and family as directed. Operates and enters information through the hospital computer system. Documents required information and patient history. Documents other information as required. Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required. Performs other paperwork as applicable

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:

Performs visual preventive safety inspections. Completes warm-up procedures for each radiographic room/equipment as assigned. Records quality control activities. Reports equipment conditions to site Supervisor or appropriate personnel. Maintains necessary inventory supplies for assigned workstation, rotating stock in order to eliminate outdated items. Participates in the clinical education of Radiology students as required. Maintains required competency skills in point of care testing and specimen collection. Participates in the on-call responsibilities for this position as required. All other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an AMA approved Radiological Technology school. Certification in Radiological Technology, issued by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists. Certification in Mammography, issued by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists, is required. CPR certification is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of recent clinical experience beyond training.
