Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Perform tax research and planning to optimize tax strategies and reduce tax liabilities.
- Offer tax advisory services to the management team, providing guidance on tax implications of business decisions.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to guarantee precise financial reporting and accurate recording of tax-related transactions.
- Stay informed of the latest tax laws and regulations, updating the team on any significant changes that may affect the company's tax status.
- Engage with tax authorities and external auditors, managing any tax-related inquiries or audits.
- Aid in the creation and execution of internal tax policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of three years of experience in tax accounting or a related field, preferably in the finance sector.
- Proficiency in tax preparation, research, and planning.
- Sound understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret and apply tax laws to complex business scenarios.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate tax concepts clearly to non-tax professionals.
- Proficient in tax software and accounting systems.
- Detail-oriented with robust organizational and project management capabilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- High integrity, being able to handle confidential financial information reliably.
