Our company is in search of a SecOps System Administrator to collaborate with APL's Classified IT Services team. We focus on delivering technical expertise to ensure compliance and security objectives in diverse environments that include Computer Network Defense (CND) tools like Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Comply-to-Connect (C2C), and Device and Application Control. As a SecOps System Administrator, you will...

  • Analyze data to enhance the security posture of Collateral Networks and pinpoint operational challenges.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of current security systems and recommend enhancements when required.
  • Erect a structure to evaluate and boost existing controls and processes within the security system.
  • Assist in the setup and upkeep of the ESS/Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) suite and associated modules in alignment with DoD-mandated standards.
  • Support the deployment and maintenance of Application Control across multiple networks.
  • Monitor logs and oversee authorized and unauthorized removable devices and media within the network.
  • Stay vigilant, monitoring alerts for specific events linked to VPN Gateways or Firewalls, indicating any unexpected traffic that may hint at a breach.
  • Collaborate closely with audit analysts to oversee policy changes, privileged user actions, and data transfers to assure consistent policy enforcement.
  • Plan, communicate, and manage CND tools administration to meet demands from various sources such as Security Operations, DoD compliance/inspection readiness, Cyber Security Services Provider (CSSP), and end-users.
  • Assist the Vulnerability Management Team to verify that ACAS security architecture, design, and execution comply with DoD regulations and other relevant directives.
Qualifications

To qualify, you should have...

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience in IT.
  • Experience in conducting security systems analysis and monitoring.
  • Proficiency in managing enterprise security tools and capabilities, including ESS and ACAS.
  • Experience with Windows and RHEL Operating Systems.
  • Knowledge in evaluating security controls based on cybersecurity principles.
  • A solid grasp of Host-based Security Systems, Device Control Solutions, and Security tools deployment.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining Application Control solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with implementing Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIGs) for device hardening.
  • Expertise in incident response processes, with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively on a regular basis.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capability to acquire DISA ESS 201 & 301 Administrator certifications, DISA ACAS Operator and Supervisor certification, FCSA Comply to Connect (C2C) within 6 months of joining.
  • A current industry certification aligned with DoD Manual 8570, 01-M for IAT II.
  • Superb oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical details clearly to all levels of management and staff.
  • Hold an active Secret security clearance and be willing to undergo a government security investigation to access classified information, meeting U.S. citizenship requirements.

  • Prior experience in managing Network Access Control (802.1x) solutions and ForeScout CounterAct or other Comply-to-Connect solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in networking, network security, VMware, Enterprise storage, server, data center services, and other cutting-edge products and technologies.
  • Previous experience utilizing Splunk to create custom queries for analyzing and addressing anomalies.
  • An industry certification aligned with DoD Manual 8140, 01-M for CSSP roles.
