Job Description:

Responsible for properly receiving, storing, and issuing of all food and beverage products in the food, and general storerooms.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for proper receiving, storing and issuing of all food and beverage products in the food, and general storerooms under the guidance of the storeroom manager. This responsibility includes the ability to communicate clearly with drivers, storeroom managers, and culinary chefs.
  • Inspect and unpack all merchandise received, and stock/stores it in the proper location. This includes weighing all proteins for accuracy, as well as recording temperature of received proteins and inspecting delivery truck for cleanliness and proper temperature.
  • Assists storeroom manager in keeping the storeroom properly organized by storing products accurately and performing regular storeroom sweeps to ensure organization is maintained.
  • Responsible for dating all food product with a "date gun"; also adhering to a first in/first out (F.I.F.O.) rotation policy
  • Strictly adheres to the operating hours of the storerooms.
  • Assist in endofmonth inventories.
  • Assists storeroom manager in the inspection of the refrigeration units and brings to their attention any deviation from the set temperatures as well as any deterioration of the quality of the perishables; Storeroom Clerk is responsible for recording refrigeration temperature twice daily: morning and afternoon.
  • Responsible for the cleaning of all storerooms and refrigeration units.
  • To follow/adhere to Omni Hotels operating procedures and local health regulations.
  • Start a list for out of stocks/goods not received "items" so that followup can be made. This requires reviewing invoices for items not received and reviewing POs to ensure product received is accurate.
  • Walk all storerooms before departing for cleanliness and organization.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in purchasing/receiving and/or previous hotel experience preferred.
  • Highly motivated selfstarter focused on quality, organization, cleanliness and teamwork.
  • The ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure work environment while executing delegated tasks/assignments and while working as a team player.
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with management and coworkers, both in person and by telephone.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into computer systems
  • Ability to work cohesively with coworkers both within and outside of your department
  • Must be service oriented and possess a friendly approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to read requisitions and complete orders as requested.
  • Requires frequent bending, reaching overhead and squatting. Lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 75 lbs without assistance and 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Push/pull objects weighing up to 75 lbs. without assistance.
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule, including early morning hours, holidays and weekends.
  • Should have basic computer operation understanding.
