Position Summary:
- Assist with the care of orthopedic patients, applying routine casts, splints, traction, and other orthopedic devices under the guidance and supervision of attending medical staff.
- Maintain orthopedic equipment and may handle some clerical duties to support the assigned area, ensuring compliance with Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.

Patient care assignment may include:
Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups.

Detailed responsibilities:
  • PATIENT CARE: Assist physicians with seminars, demonstrations, and patient-care instructions.
  • PATIENT CARE: Apply casts, splints, traction, and other orthopedic devices; assist in related procedures under the guidance of attending orthopedic physicians.
  • ADMISSION: Assist patients and families throughout the admission, transfer, and discharge process; manage patient appointments when necessary.
  • DATA: Enter and retrieve computer data accurately.
  • EQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES: Maintain a sanitary work area, report equipment issues, and manage supply stock.
  • DEVELOPMENT: Enhance professional growth through educational programs, literature, in-services, and workshops.
  • PATIENT CARE: Prepare for procedures by handling necessary medications.
  • PATIENT SAFETY: Follow safety protocols, identify risks, and report concerns promptly.
  • PATIENT CENTERED MED: Adhere to and promote the core expectations of a Patient-Centered Medical Home or Specialty Practice.

Qualifications
Education:
Essential: High School or GED Equivalent

Experience:
Essential: No minimum experience required
Nonessential:1 year directly related experience

Credentials:
Essential: CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days

Physical Conditions:
Heavy Work: Exerting significant force to move objects or people.
