General Overview

We are seeking a Safety Supervisor dedicated to nurturing a culture of safety excellence that prioritizes continuous enhancement in Environmental Safety and Health practices. The individual will spearhead the development and maintenance of cutting-edge safety programs compliant with federal, state, and corporate regulations. Additionally, they will offer guidance and support to all team members on matters of workplace health and safety.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of direct reports, overseeing their development and performance.
  • Managing day-to-day department operations, implementing policies as needed.
  • Crafting and upholding environmental, health, and safety programs and protocols.
  • Collaborating with leadership and employees to identify and rectify hazardous workplace conditions and practices.
  • Acting as the primary contact for all safety-related matters, incidents, and projects, offering proactive recommendations to prevent future issues.
  • Conducting thorough analysis of safety data, including OSHA incidents, to drive improvements.
  • Coordinating with Operations Supervisors to ensure accurate reporting and decisions on safety incidents.
  • Engaging with corporate officials to ensure alignment with policies and regulations.
  • Providing leadership and training to the safety committee, facilitating productive meetings and agendas.
  • Conducting on-site inspections to assess physical conditions and safe practices.
  • Developing safety incentive programs to boost facility performance.
  • Organizing and executing facility evacuations, developing response plans as needed.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate preparation of safety-related reports.

Qualifications

If you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred, along with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • High school diploma or GED with 6 years of experience if lacking a degree.
  • Experience managing at a department level or above.
  • Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in various software applications like Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A customer-centric approach and a collaborative mindset.

Physical/Cognitive Requirements (with or without accommodation)

  • Adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Capacity to comprehend and interpret information.
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, etc.).
  • Manual dexterity and ability to use hands for various tasks.
  • Capability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
  • Physical flexibility for movements like bending, twisting, and climbing.
  • Visual acuity and depth perception.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
