Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at AECOM

AECOM is looking for skilled Environmental Compliance Specialists to join our EHS + Air team in the Environment Business Line.

This role involves supporting clients with a range of EHS regulatory compliance needs for federal, municipal, and private-sector clients.

The position can be based in Fort Collins, CO, Cincinnati, OH, or Minneapolis, MN.

The ideal candidate will have proven expertise and will be tasked with:

  • Overseeing and providing technical guidance on environmental permitting and compliance projects covering areas such as air quality, industrial wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, and hazardous materials.
  • Conducting environmental assessments and EHS compliance audits.
  • Mentoring project personnel on environmental compliance tasks.
  • Managing all project aspects from inception to completion, including financial and contract management.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, environmental science, environmental management, geology/earth sciences, or a related field.
  • 6 years of experience in multi-media environmental regulatory compliance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must hold a valid U.S Driver's license.

Preferred Skills:

  • 4 years of experience in environmental consulting or as an EHS Manager in an industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with health & safety regulations.
  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally for audits and assessments.
  • Track record in business development for environmental compliance contracts.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic setting.
  • Experience with SPCC, NPDES, RCRA, and related environmental regulations.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPEA, CHMM, PE, CEP).
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 standards.
Additional Information

  • Position requires U.S. Citizenship due to project specifications.
Offered compensation will be commensurate with location and qualifications, typically ranging from $85,000 to $110,000 annually.
