Summary:

A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for providing patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Additionally, the nurse prescribes, delegates, coordinates, supervises, and evaluates patient teaching and ancillary nursing staff activities while upholding professional nursing standards. The Registered Nurse can give direct and indirect patient care.

Requirements:

  • A. Education/Skills: Graduate of a State Board School of Nursing or equivalent.
  • B. Experience: Twelve (12) months of experience preferred.
  • C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Current license to practice professional nursing in Texas. AHA BLS required within two (2) weeks of employment. Medication and Computer Competence needed within four (4) weeks of employment. Various other certifications required within specified timeframes.
