Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting to join the External Reporting function within our growing Accounting and Finance team

This role will report directly to the External Reporting Manager. You will be an integral part of a best-in-class External Financial Reporting function for a growing telecommunications company. In this position, you will support the Company's development of its External Financial Reporting function including analyzing operational results, researching accounting guidance and disclosure matters, preparing financial statements, along with drafting and benchmarking footnotes to financial statements through the final issuance of these key documents.

In addition, you will partner with other Accounting and Finance groups, internal auditors, external auditors and consultants. You will have excellent technical accounting and research skills; financial reporting and accounting skills; communications skills, both written and verbal; is proactive and detail oriented and can work well independently and as part of a collaborative team.

As the Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting, your duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Support reporting obligations and ensure timely submission of all required reporting for equity investors, lenders and management
  • Prepare and/or review various financial statement components and management reporting documents
  • Coordinate with stakeholder groups to assess, validate, and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting data and certain additional accounting information
  • Develop and maintain proper policies and procedures, documentation, and test approach for all financial reporting areas to provide assurance the Company is operating a best-in-class accounting and reporting internal control environment
  • Proactive identification and communication of issues and improvement opportunities
  • Staying current on new and evolving GAAP requirements, researching accounting guidance, effectively partnering with accounting and finance teams to implement changes and ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Provide support and requirements to technology teams and external consultants to refine Workiva
  • Partner with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and report to various stakeholders on the status of internal/external audits
Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting or finance discipline
  • 5+ years relevant Accounting and Financial Reporting experience
  • Strong communication, planning and project management skills
  • Public accounting experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to investigate, analyze, and interpret accounting guidance
  • Experience working hands-on and with other cross-functional teams
  • Computer and software literacy for applications and systems (e.g. Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Adaptable to a changing business environment and organizational structure
