This job involves providing support for a wide range of medical imaging procedures. You will assist and carry out various technical and patient care tasks to enhance the delivery of radiology services efficiently and effectively under the supervision of a registered professional technologist.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date
  • Competency in the use of safe patient handling equipment within 30 days of hire date

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • One (1) year of experience in a clinical setting

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Greets patients arriving at the Radiology department and ensures a smooth patient experience
  • Answers phone calls promptly and courteously
  • Verifies and notifies physicians of any order inaccuracies
  • Supports Radiologic Technologists in imaging procedures
  • Prepares patients for examinations as per department protocol
  • Assists patients with comfort needs
  • Engages in problem-solving and crisis management
  • Coordinates department workflow with patient floors and other units
  • Performs quality control testing on equipment
  • Transports patients to and from imaging procedures

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
  • Requires stamina, lifting, stooping, standing, and walking
  • Stand and walk for up to 8 hours daily

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Exposure to minimal radiation within national standards
  • Exposure to airborne particles and body fluids
  • Operation of imaging equipment

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to interact positively with patients and healthcare team
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
  • Demonstrate competency in using patient handling equipment
  • Knowledge of radiology systems including EPIC and PACS

Additional Job Description: Tech assistant for MRI in Radiology department covering open shifts for weekdays and weeknights.
