About the job

The Aviation team is looking for a Senior Captain to assist with the operation of company-owned aircraft and for assisting in ensuring the safety, comfort, and convenience of all passengers. SAS currently operates FAR 91 with a goal of obtaining a 135 certificate in the near future. Successful candidate will be required to live within 1 hour drive from RDU. Our fleet currently consist of a Falcon 2000LX, 2 Falcon 900EX EASys and a BBJ.

As a Senior Captain, you will:

• Acts as pilot in command of flights for which the pilot has been scheduled.
• Perform flight duties in compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, foreign regulations, and SAS operating policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all flight and ground operations comply with manufacturer and FAA requirements and recommendations for specific type aircraft being flown.
• Ensure all necessary actions are taken to ensure the safety and comfort of the passengers.
• Coordinates with maintenance personnel to analyze and correct aircraft discrepancies.
• Assists Flight Coordination Manager with details during pre-trip planning and during the conduct of company trips.
• Makes decisions regarding flight planning, possible delays, re-routing or flight cancellations.

Required Qualifications

• Aviation or related degree preferred.
• Current Airline Transport Pilot license with multi-engine and instrument ratings.
• Requires a minimum of 5000 hours of total documented flight time, plus 1500 hours flying a jet, 1500 hours Pilot-in-Command of which 1000 hours must be in jet aircraft requiring 2 pilots due to type certification, and 300 hours of instrument experience.
• Must be at least 25 years of age.
• FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
• FCC Radio License.
• Valid Passport and/or other travel documents for free entrance and exit in other countries.
• No record of aircraft accidents or violations.
• Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years experience in corporate aviation.
• International experience to include North Atlantic and Pacific operations.
• Falcon EASy experience a plus.
