The Technology Support Specialist will receive a generous total compensation package. Bonuses are awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance. As a Technology Support Specialist at Latham, you will be responsible for providing support to the office by resolving desktop, notebook, and remote computing issues. You will be responsible for installation and maintenance of Firm PC and notebook computer hardware and software. The Specialist troubleshoots and repairs PCs and software settings in firm applications, while accomplishing these and other critical functions:

Providing support to desktops, notebook systems, hardware, and customer related services. Also providing support to printers, Multi-Functional Devices (MFDs), and PDAs including configuring and troubleshooting.

Providing assistance to end users for firm-approved applications using a variety of different methods. Those applications include: Microsoft Office, Outlook, iManage, ChangePro, Metadata Cleaning Assistant, inTapp Time, Remote Desktop Services, VPN, and other applications as deemed necessary.

Performing regular maintenance on PC equipment such as desktop and notebook computers, printers, monitors and peripheral hardware; also scanning computers for viruses.

Troubleshooting and resolving problems involving hardware, systems software, and applications software. Troubleshooting a variety of symptoms in order to diagnose the actual problem.

Setting up and configuring desktop and notebook computers and printers, initializing and stabilizing performance.

Meeting and coordinating with other local Technology department members on product installation, training, and support.

Configuring and installing hardware components and software in desktop and notebook computers.

Setting up conference rooms to use technology services (e.g. presentations, network connections, and audio/visual elements).

Providing end-user support by answering the help desk line and Outlook mailbox. Tracking help calls and solutions by creating ServiceNow tickets, and notifies team members when taking and completing an open request.

Maintaining an inventory of PC hardware equipment and software programs. Providing relocation of computer setups as needed.

Keeping abreast of new technologies; reviewing appropriate periodicals and journals; may work with Practice Support staff in assessing training and development needs.

Utilizing System Configuration Manager console deploy software packages and updating to end users workstations.

Responding to application and document problems both remotely and in person.

Coordinating with other areas / departments of the Firm where overlap exists to develop efficient procedures / communications to stream-line processes and satisfy various department needs.

As a Technology Support Specialist, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Technology Support Specialist must have knowledge and proficiency of various remote communication methodologies required, including Remote Desktop Services, RSA SecurID technology and VPN. The successful Technology Support Specialist must display the analytical skills needed to troubleshoot a variety of symptoms, diagnose problems, and test, recommend and implement solutions to technology problems. The ideal candidate must have knowledge and proficiency in a wide variety of software programs, including Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook), IManageFilesite and ChangePro; and have advanced knowledge of standard hardware components and peripherals. Working knowledge of printer and MFD hardware/settings to perform basic support, and knowledge and proficiency with handheld wireless devices (i.e. BlackBerry, iPhone, iPad, Android devices) in a corporate environment is a must.

A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of technology support experience with PC hardware/software is desired, with experience working with remote communications hardware including wireless routers and network interface cards. A minimum of two (2) years related experience working with notebook computers is desired, and experience with Lenovo notebooks is preferred. Experience with installations and upgrades, training, and technical documentation is desired.
