Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Field Service Technician at Handtmann, Inc. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Handtmann equipment installed at customer sites. The day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting machinery, performing preventative maintenance, conducting repairs, and providing technical support to customers. The Field Service Technician will work remotely to manage service requests, schedule visits, and ensure customer satisfaction..

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Travels to customer locations to install, service and repair food processing machinery.

Supports customer satisfaction with effective maintenance and repair of food production equipment in the meat, bakery, cheese, poultry and seafood processing plants.

Inspects equipment to detect or determine any issues or malfunctions.

Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic control systems to provide technical support, installation of new equipment, preventative maintenance and on-site equipment repairs.

Works as part of a collaborative team to support and share specialized technical expertise.

Manages spare parts inventory.

Maintains customer equipment repair and maintenance records.

Fosters and maintains excellent relations with customers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in equipment maintenance and repair
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Knowledge of food processing industry and equipment is a plus
  • Technical degree or certification in a related field is preferred
