Director of Service – Commercial HVAC

Company Overview


Our client is a Michigan-based full-service mechanical contractor focused on commercial, industrial, and retail projects in the Detroit metropolitan area.

From the basic to the most sophisticated of automated HVAC systems, our client has engineered and built them.

In fact, since their founding in 1993, they have installed almost every type of HVAC, process piping, and process ventilation system in the industry.

This role will report to the owner and replace a tenured employee who is retiring.

The focus of this position is to take over and manage an existing book of business while working closely with ownership to develop and manage the existing sales team.

Role


As the Director of Service, you will help market the company to new and existing clients and develop turnkey solution including estimating / proposal presentation for mechanical retrofit projects in commercial and industrial markets.


  • Mechanical Systems Knowledge : Competent understanding of mechanical systems and how they function. This includes ability to survey mechanical systems, understand the needs and problems, determine repair modification and/or replacement requirements to provide prospects with solutions to problems. Interpret drawings, equipment, and job conditions.
  • Leadership:
Able to manage a team of outside sales representatives and project managers to ensure company goals are met.

  • Estimating : Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Prospecting : Qualify prospects, make effective sales presentations, answers questions and objections in a proficient and responsible manner. Ability to understand the prospects needs both technically and financially.
  • Customer Relations : Create new client relationships, while maintaining established customer relationships. Consult with prospects and customers to assure resolution of problems and maintain long-term positive relationships.
Responsibilities

  • Work directly with ownership to increase sales within an existing book of business while managing/mentoring other sellers whose focus is on new business development
  • Create new client relationships, while maintaining established customer relationships
  • Meet/exceed your planned sales objectives for both project and maintenance sales
  • Manage agreements with the client and operations staff to ensure timely and effective completion
  • Utilize and coordinate with other team
members/departments

to optimize your sales success

  • Utilize the company's standard policies, procedures, and pricing programs to estimate all work.
  • Utilize the company's CRM system to record all sales activities and account information
  • Actively communicate with leadership to discuss strategy as it pertains to manpower needs
Compensation & Location

This position will be based out of

Metro Detroit, MI . This is a full-time position that is available for immediate hire.

A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that will include a base salary, aggressive commission plan, company 401K with match, monthly auto allowance and fuel card, and comprehensive benefits.
