JOB TITLE: Direct Support Professional

CLASSIFICATION: Part Time, Non-Exempt

PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT: Community Habilitation

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Support Services/Guardianship

Location of position: throughout Niagara County

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for in-home respite for disabled individuals and their families. Provides transportation, supervision, meal preparation, behavior management and participation in activities. Promotes, maintains and/or restores health, and/or minimizes the effects of illness and disabilities. Maintains accurate documentation of services provided including input in the program and/or needs of the people we serve. Responsible for acquiring and maintaining medication administration certification. Treats individuals and their correspondents with the utmost dignity and respect and allows individuals to fully exercise their human rights.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education, Training & Experience:
Ability and willingness to perform all job functions

Preferred Education, Training & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent

One (1) year of experience working in the Human Services field

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Valid New York State driver's license that meets the Agency's driving policy

Ability to effectively multi-task in performance of job duties

Effectively communicates with people we serve, their families, other service providers and agency staff

SALARY:

$17 per hour starting rate
