MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability and willingness to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, if needed.
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior institutional dietary experience.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
  • The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Food Service Director and Food Service Administrator in the day-to-day food service operation of the State Veterans' Nursing Home.
  • Ensure that food is stored, prepared, distributed and served under sanitary conditions.
  • Set-up serving lines with food items according to menu. Ensures hot and cold foods are maintained at correct temperature levels. Tags all outgoing trays with resident's name, diet, etc.
  • Performs general cleaning duties to maintain area in a sanitary condition. Cleans equipment, walls, floor, windows, ceiling, counters, tables and chairs, stoves, garbage, and trash rooms. Washes dishes.
    Takes out garbage and trash to appropriate area.
  • Assembles, disassembles, and operates dishwashing machine and kitchen equipment following manufacturer's instructions.
  • Assists cooks by cleaning and preparing raw foods following cook's directions. Prepares salads and salad dressings. Dishes up salads and desserts into containers.
  • Attends in-service training classes and performs related duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • All documentation is due by the closing date of the job announcement.
