Salary Range: Starting Wage: $22-27

Job Summary: This position works 3rd shift (11 pm - 7 am Sunday- Friday) and handles setups, repairs, and adjustments to injection molding machines.

Job Duties:

  • Positions assembled molds on press bed of molding machine bolts to assemble and align die with matrix.
  • Installs die on machine using clamps, bolts, and hand tools. Adjusts stroke of RAM.
  • Connects steam, oil, or waterlines to molding machines.
  • Sets machine controls according to procedures for process control during the manufacturing cycle.
  • Starts up sample mold runs and examines samples for requirements.
  • Verifies critical dimensions and submits the product for Quality Assurance approval.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping of work area.
  • Sets up and repairs machinery and equipment based on diagrams, sketches, and operation manuals.
  • Performs startup and shutdown of equipment.
  • Adjusts controls for proper machine operation and timing.
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Occasionally loads heavy materials into the machine.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Skills/Technical Skills:

  • Computer skills necessary for system maintenance and operations software.
  • Understanding of injection molding, hydraulics, pneumatics, preventative maintenance, mold setup/changeovers, and basic electrical.
  • Ability to work various shifts including 2nd and 3rd.

Knowledge:

  • Experience in regulated industries is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical device manufacturing and supplies is advantageous.
  • Understanding of world-class manufacturing practices is beneficial.

Physical Requirements:

  • The job may involve standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities are required.
  • A Fitness for Duty Examination may be necessary.

Education:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years related experience; or 2-year certificate with 2 years' industrial mechanic experience.
