POSITION SUMMARY
Working with minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides nursing care for a specific group of patients based on their individual needs and the nurse's abilities. The role involves completing required competencies within a set timeframe. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Position Qualifications
- MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree
- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: No prior experience required
- PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Two years in acute care with previous clinical nursing experience
- REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS
- Must possess active healthcare provider Basic Life Support certification upon hire (ARC or AHA); however, must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of employment
- ACLS and NRP courses must be completed within 60 days of hire or role transfer
- Novice RNs must complete Fetal Heart Monitoring training within 30 days of starting, while experienced L&D RNs should have Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
- S.T.A.B.L.E. - Level 2 Nursery certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer
- PALS course must be completed within 60 days of hire or role transfer (Pediatrics)
