POSITION SUMMARY

Working with minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides nursing care for a specific group of patients based on their individual needs and the nurse's abilities. The role involves completing required competencies within a set timeframe. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.


Position Qualifications
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: No prior experience required
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Two years in acute care with previous clinical nursing experience
  • REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse

REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS

  • Must possess active healthcare provider Basic Life Support certification upon hire (ARC or AHA); however, must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of employment
  • ACLS and NRP courses must be completed within 60 days of hire or role transfer
  • Novice RNs must complete Fetal Heart Monitoring training within 30 days of starting, while experienced L&D RNs should have Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. - Level 2 Nursery certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer
  • PALS course must be completed within 60 days of hire or role transfer (Pediatrics)
