Kaizen is seeking a Sushi Chef to add to our new and growing team As a Sushi chef, you would be responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the restaurant's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability.
As a member of Kaizen, you would be responsible for performing all tasks to the highest standards and have a fun, exciting time learning to grow in the kitchenYou will be responsible for the following:
- Execute food tickets, accurately to spec and within desired ticket time
- Attain knowledge and ability to execute all menu items
- Ensures proper product rotation; using consistent first in, first out, practices
- Maintain a working environment that is set up for success, by properly setting up and breaking down kitchen and dish areas, stocking stations properly, completing daily side work & cleaning duties, and keeping cooking areas organized throughout service
- 17 years or older
- Food handling card or certification through approved organization
- Able to lift and move 50 pounds and sustain working long hours on your feet
- Should have reliable transportation to get to scheduled shifts on time
- 12 years sushi cook experience in a restaurant kitchen
- Basic knife skills, prep production & recipe execution abilities
- Can follow directives and instructions, on the spot, during busy times
- Working knowledge of common weights and recipe measurements
- Ability to read tickets and execute food accurately and in a timely fashion
- Ability to work in close quarters with other cooks successfully
- Outgoing personality with the ability to talk to new people regularly
Compensation:
Pay dependent on experience.
