Physical Therapist- Clarkston, MI
As a Physical Therapist, you will play a crucial role in promoting the overall well-being of our students by providing expert physical therapy services. The successful candidate will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students in achieving their educational and developmental goals.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify and evaluate students' physical, motor, and sensory development.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' specific needs and enhance their functional abilities.
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students in various settings, including one-on-one sessions, small groups, or classroom-based interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to integrate physical therapy goals into students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians to share progress, provide recommendations, and involve them in their child's therapy process.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, progress notes, and other relevant records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of comprehensive education plans for students.
- Stay current on best practices in school-based physical therapy and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that supports the overall well-being of students and contributes to the school community.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Michigan licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred, but not required.
