As Principal Fluidics Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for technology development and design of the complex fluid dispensing and mixing systems that are embedded within our commercial foodservice appliances. In this individual contributor role, youll work on a variety of exciting design challenges related to fluid cooling, valving, gas injection, transport, and more. Your subject-matter expertise and innovative thinking will help ensure our equipment offers cutting-edge and reliable technology that enhances the customer experience and our market advantage.

This role is subject to our hybrid work model: we collaborate in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The rest of the week, you have flexibility to work wherever it suits you best.

What Youll Do

• Partner closely with product management, marketing, engineering, and operations to generate technology platforms and product modules that are based on tactically selected innovative technologies in the commercial appliances space
• Serve as MFTs subject-matter expert in fluids and valving systems design; provide effective solutions and generate original concepts to a range of customer and market needs
• Maintain strong understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape, design partners, and customer portfolios
• Conduct technology research in new/adjacent markets, and develop automation technology platforms and roadmaps
• Propose and lead technology projects with an emphasis on integration of fluid and valving technologies
• Perform fluid system design, development, testing, and validation of technology and innovation concepts/solutions
• Review, select, design, and develop validation test plans for complex fluid systems applicable to beverage, refrigeration, frozen, or other related products
• Design selection, specification, and application of critical components; Identify Critical to Quality (CTQs) features through the DFMEA process and reflect them in the component selection process
• Support the drafting of plans for reliability, design validation, performance evaluation, component selection, and customer specific requests.
• Perform simulations, and CAD design and detail drawing creation in SolidWorks, Creo, etc.
• Integrate valves, tubing, controls, data logging, pumps, pneumatics, nozzles, etc.
• Conduct detailed engineering analysis calculations to define and optimize critical design parameters and predict system performance
• Serve as a coach and mentor to other engineers by participating in architecture, design, and projects reviews, and technology learning sessions

Skills/Experience Were Looking For

• Demonstrated experience with fluid systems design, product development and product launches
• Experience with technology research, idea generation, and technology platforming strategies
• Systems thinker with holistic approach to analysis that focuses on how a systems individual parts interact and how the systems deliver expected results
• Mechanical aptitude, hands-on assembly, modification, tinkering and optimizing fluid-based systems
• Understanding of materials selection, corrosion mechanisms, and life expectancy of complex systems and failure modes
• Mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, and advanced test creation skills
• Experience with SolidWorks and Creo CAD systems
• Familiarity with agency requirements and regulating bodies, such as UL, NSF, DOE, IEC, ETL, ISO, EN, etc.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Engineering or related field
• 15 years of experience architecting, designing, implementing, and launching complex fluidic systems, products, and solutions
