Role Summary:

As a Custodian at Gallaudet University, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in assigned areas. Reporting to the Supervisor of Custodial Services, you will play a key role in upholding the university's standards of excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform various cleaning tasks to ensure a clean and orderly environment
  • Operate a variety of cleaning equipment including floor sprayers, vacuum cleaners, and pressure washers
  • Maintain non-carpeted floors, carpeted areas, and upholstery
  • Handle supply needs and inventory management
  • Adhere to safety and security protocols
  • Assume additional duties as required

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year experience in custodial services or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion

Additional Details:

  • Evening and weekend work may be required
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds
  • Valid work authorization in the United States
  • On-site work expected, with potential for modified schedules
