Physical Therapist

Under general supervision, the Physical Therapist performs physical examinations, treats common episodic and chronic health problems, counsels patients, and monitors progress in a clinic setting. The therapist develops and implements physical therapy services, directs patient care, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team.
About the Job Title: Physical Therapist
The Physical Therapist provides care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients with various diagnoses. Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment planning, documentation, delegation of duties, and participation in performance improvement activities.
Essential Duties:
- Acts as a primary care provider, initiates care, establishes treatment plans, provides interventions, and makes referrals as needed.
- Conducts interviews, gathers medical histories, performs examinations, and manages treatment.
- Supervises Physical Therapist Assistants and/or Aides.
- Performs or orders diagnostic examinations, interprets results, and manages therapy interventions.
- Develops treatment plans, initiates consultations, and participates in patient care conferences.
- Manages patient caseload, provides education to patients and families, and recommends consultations with other healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and expertise in various physical therapy settings.
- Provides education, evaluates performance, and assumes leadership roles within the department.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Physical Therapy
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and sound judgment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in Physical Therapy
- Experience in Physical Therapy, residency, or fellowship training
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Current and valid license to practice Physical Therapy
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- USC Credentialing within 6 months of hire
- Board certification in a physical therapy specialty preferred
- Fire Life Safety Training certification
