About the Company

Our client is a renowned family-style restaurant in northern Indianapolis that has been serving traditional American food to local neighborhoods for nearly 100 years. They have indoor, outdoor, and private dining options totaling about 200 seats, and offer catering as well.

Role Summary

The AGM will work closely with the GM to oversee FOH, BOH, and staff (24 total workers). They will also provide training as needed. This position reports to the GM.

Hours

This position will have 36-40 hours a week, Wednesday through Sunday. The restaurant is currently open 4 p.m – 9 p.m., but will soon also include weekend breakfast/brunch.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership
  • Lead pre-shift staff meetings
  • Manage and collaborate with other management personnel
  • Enforce handbook procedures and attire
  • Ensure everyone is on the floor when the restaurant opens
  • Manage BOH staff and operations
  • Lead servers to be responsible for quality of food before it reaches the customer
  • Manage Doordash, GrubHub, and Uber Eats online menus
  • Manage carry-out orders and processes

Guests

  • Meet with guests to understand their needs for large parties and special events
  • Ensure any service/customer complaints are handled with the best interests of the customers and company in mind
  • Proactively look for ways to improve the guest experience
  • Confirm reservations of large parties (10+ guests)
  • Grow revenue through marketing and upselling

Administration

  • Create a brunch menu (to be rolled out for Saturdays and Sundays)
  • Ensure all shift openings and closings are completed and checked daily
  • Schedule FOH staff
  • Place orders for FOH supplies
  • Track inventory every Sunday
  • Make sure all transactions for every shift are correct, including an itemized report for anything outside of server's tickets and final deposits
  • Ensure every new employee is properly set up with payroll/taxes documentation and POS system entry with all their info
  • Manage expenses (COGS and labor)

Upkeep

  • Rearrange reservation seating assignments before each shift
  • Make sure the dining room is presentable, including fresh flowers
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of restaurant
  • Ensure the bar is properly stocked and prepared for service

Qualifications

  • 3 years of restaurant management experience
  • Full proficiency with Open Table
  • Full proficiency with Aloha POS
  • Full proficiency with MarginEdge
