FUNCTIONAL OVERVIEW:
 Independently conducts a comprehensive array of diagnostic assessments, maintenance routines, adjustments, and complete system refurbishments for various mail processing, customer support, and facility equipment, utilizing profound technical expertise to tackle intricate issues.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 1.  Carries out advanced testing, diagnostics, upkeep, alignment, refurbishment, and updates for electronically operated or managed systems; may also involve the maintenance of related electromechanical systems.

2.  Monitors the performance of systems and machinery, implementing diverse testing and diagnostic approaches to identify and rectify failures while ensuring peak operational efficiency.

3.  Conducts inspections of equipment to evaluate service quality or maintenance provided, identifying potential malfunctions; initiates requests for necessary corrective measures for equipment that falls below operational standards; estimates time and materials needed for repairs and investigates recurrent or serious failures to ascertain root causes and recommend repair strategies.

4.  Suggests improvements to service and preventive maintenance tasks; supports the revision of preventive maintenance schedules and checklists to uphold appropriate levels of maintenance.

5.  Analyzes equipment breakdowns; reviews operational documentation and other data to identify areas for operational improvements that would avert equipment or system degradation.

6.  Engages in the installation, removal, alteration, assembly, and disassembly of systems and machinery.

7.  Participates in classroom training, on-the-job learning, and correspondence education; attends instructional sessions at postal facilities, vocational institutions, and manufacturer locations; aids in the development and execution of training initiatives; provides mentorship to junior maintenance staff.

8.  Offers technical assistance to colleagues within the facility or in field installations; executes in-progress and final operational verifications on work completed by other personnel; may operate independently without direct supervision.

9.  May utilize various modes of transportation during the execution of designated responsibilities.

10.  Adheres to safety protocols and requirements throughout all activities; comprehensively follows guidance outlined in relevant maintenance directives; keeps a repository of maintenance directives.

11.  Undertakes additional responsibilities as needed.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
 Executes all aspects of maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of electronic circuits employed in systems and equipment necessitating knowledge of solid-state technology. Trains and provides technical guidance on complex systems and hardware/software issues.

1 Ability to showcase mechanical understanding to grasp and execute mechanical principles, including familiarity with basic mechanical functions and the application of fundamental physical laws. This encompasses knowledge in areas such as: (A) Power mechanisms—gears, chains, belts; (B) Power transmission—cams, springs; (C) Friction minimization—bearings; (D) Fastening devices—screws, clips, etc. 2 Understanding of basic electric principles, including laws and concepts governing AC-DC circuits, relays, and circuit components. Familiarity with codes relevant to electrical professions may be necessary. This also composes knowledge of techniques and practices used in electrical tasks. 3 Insight into electronic principles, covering aspects such as logic gates, hardware components, digital circuits, and schematic interpretation. 4 Cognition of safety and security protocols pertinent to maintenance activities, including awareness of industrial risks. 5 Familiarity with contemporary technology and its application for improved problem-solving; knowledge related to computer operation, software functionality, and network systems. 6 Proficiency in performing basic mathematical calculations for practical problem resolution. 7 Retention of previously learned concepts for application in maintenance tasks. 8 Ability to analyze issues critically to determine underlying causes and appropriate corrective actions. 9 Capacity for logical thinking and effective interpretation of information related to maintenance tasks. 10 Proficient in adapting to new tools and practices. 11 Capability to establish harmonious work relationships, uphold public service commitment, and demonstrate dependability in job responsibilities, accuracy in task execution, and meticulous record-keeping.
