PURPOSE/BELIEF STATEMENT:
The role of a Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at our facility involves providing personalized nursing care to residents, ensuring care standards are met, and delivering top-notch resident care consistently. The individual in this position must act as a team player, leader, and supervisor to guarantee efficient work and quality care, supporting team members and leading the way in acknowledging team achievements. While overseeing the delivery of quality care, the role also involves resource management and assisting others in resource management.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the orientation and training of new employees and contribute to their ongoing development.
- Develop and communicate shift assignments for nursing staff, monitor their job performance, and ensure work is carried out according to nursing standards.
- Aid in scheduling when necessary.
- Assist in documenting new admissions to the Nursing Home as needed.
- Communicate resident conditions, needs, and concerns with ancillary departments and nursing staff during shift changes.
- Ensure adherence to established departmental policies and procedures by all nursing staff.
- Keep the Director of Nursing and Unit Managers updated on staff, resident, family, and center issues, and assist in providing solutions as required.
- Review reports from previous shifts, follow up on resident care and related issues as necessary.
- Assist in evaluating the performance of nursing staff.
- Investigate resident/family complaints and incidents.
- Effectively manage available resources as a nurse supervisor, ensuring availability of necessary resources and delivery of quality care to residents.
- Deliver professional nursing care to residents.
- Contribute to developing written care plans and assessments for each resident, reviewing and updating as needed.
- Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe resident environment, meeting resident needs consistently.
- Keep accurate and updated records, documentation, and charts of residents' medical treatments.
- Abide by established departmental, center, and corporate policies and procedures, quality improvement programs, and safety standards.
- Participate in training, educational classes, and orientation programs to maintain licensure and enhance quality of care.
- Provide leadership to the staff, fostering loyalty to the organization by setting a positive example.
- Engage in any assigned or requested related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Jersey.
- Prior experience in Long Term Care / Nursing Home / Nursing Facility / Sub-acute Rehab (SAR) is preferred.
- Minimum of a Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, and a graduate of an approved Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Program.
- Acceptance of Multi State Licenses.
