Overview:

This position will require an individual with a high aptitude for adaptability as the roles and responsibilities of the position can change on a day to day basis. Working closely and collaboratively with the sales, production, machining / fabrication, finance, and quality teams to deliver the best customer experience.

Job Description:
  • Collaborate with the external sales team to coordinate sales efforts, share market insights, and support each other in achieving sales targets.
  • Understand customer needs and requirements to recommend appropriate products or solutions that align with their business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers through regular communication via phone, email, and other channels.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and market developments to identify new business opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Provide feedback to the marketing department on customer preferences, market trends, and opportunities for product improvement or new product development.
  • Receive and review customer orders via email, phone, or electronic systems.
    Input order details accurately into the company's order management system, ensuring completeness and correctness of information.
  • Analyze order specifications, including product quantities, specifications, pricing, and delivery requirements.
    Estimate order costs and lead times based on production schedules, inventory levels, and shipping logistics.
  • Communicate order status updates and estimated delivery dates to customers and internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, including documentation of customer communications, order revisions, and related activities.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide exceptional service.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve order processing efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.

- Proven experience in order entry, order processing, or related administrative roles, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or Google, and/or order management systems.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.

- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues efficiently and diplomatically.

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, products, and terminology is a plus.
