Job Description

WINGS Program, Inc. is seeking a part-time Awake Overnight House Advocate to ensure the safe house runs smoothly during the night, especially for those experiencing domestic violence. If you're interested in social services and making a positive impact in your community, then this may be the job for you.

Objective: Ensure the smooth functioning of the Safe House and Crisis Line, providing necessary support to clients overnight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the Crisis Line, offering crisis intervention, counseling, education, safety planning, and referrals
  • Conduct intake and eligibility evaluations for guests at the Safe House
  • Interact with guests, role modeling social skills and other essential daily living skills
  • Supervise house activities and chores
  • Identify guest needs and communicate them efficiently
  • Conduct regular building rounds to ensure safety
  • Maintain accurate client records and reports
  • Assist with meals and donations processing
  • Participate in training and meetings
  • Report child abuse as required
  • Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in social service, counseling, or related field
  • Domestic violence training and CPR/First Aid certification preferred
  • ICDVP credential preferred
  • Food Safety and Sanitation Certification preferred
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish, Polish, or Russian preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients
  • Demonstrate flexibility, good judgment, and teamwork
  • Physically able to handle daily responsibilities
