Pyrotechnic Assistant

'Day in the life':

• Arrive to work on time and with safety already in mind
• Assist in loading required pyrotechnic materials and explosives
• Assemble pyrotechnic materials as required
• Conduct inspections and quality control of pyrotechnics
• Inspect shoot site for any unsafe or under quality work upon assembly completion
• Maintain good communication throughout the day/night
• Breakdown and load away pyrotechnic materials

Responsibilities:

A pyrotechnic assistant involves working with a lead pyrotechnic operator along with other assistants in the arrangement, operation, and breakdown of a professional fireworks display show.

Safety in mind is stressed during the entire work day/night during all steps of the production.

Position Type:

Part Time - (Flexible Schedule)

Majority of work days are Friday-Sunday, but some weekdays could sneak up. You will be notified and given a schedule ahead of time. Any changes to the schedule will be relayed to the employee.

Mandatory Training:

Training is required for all entry-level assistants and will be evaluated during your first 10 work days. This training will help you pass a required test needed by the company to acquire an Explosive licence.

• Upon completion of your first 10 days, you are required to take a 1 day Explosives training course conducted by the state of Illinois and must pass with an 80% or better. If required, the test may be taken again.

Job Requirements:

• 21 years old or older
• Reliable with solid attendance
• Must have great communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must have zero felony convictions
• Lifting, carrying, and moving small and heavy loads as required

Education:

• High school diploma or GED
