Aston Carter is seeking a Senior Accountant with Manufacturing industry and job costing experience for a client based in Georgetown, KY.


Description:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the company's accounting department and it's day-to-day tasks which will require great analytical skills, problem-solving and great knowledge of accounting principles.


Responsibilities:

  • Daily cash management
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standard and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances
  • Lead month end closing activities such as confirming accuracy within the system, revenue recognition determination, preparing/posting journal entries and financial reporting preparation and distribution.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly
  • Maintain fixed assets listing
  • Coordinate all tax and audit activity
  • Review incoming POs for terms agreeance and process POs accordingly which includes creating, releasing and tracking jobs
  • Review and confirm accuracy of all expenses tracked against jobs and work with Project Managers to determine remaining costs
  • Contract negotiations
  • Lead the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare actual results with a view to identify, explain and correct variances as appropriate.
  • Accounting system upkeep
  • Work on special projects as required
  • Human Resource and Purchasing oversight
  • Administrative tasks as required

Cost accounting, Month end, Financial reporting, General ledger, Journal entry, Gaap, purchase order, Reconciliation, erp system, vlookup, Audit, Sap, excel pivot tables, Budgeting

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3 years of related experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting preferred, Associate's Degree minimum requirement (Accounting, Finance preferred)
  • Proficient with Excel including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
  • Experience with auditing (preferred)
  • Knowledge with EPICOR (preferred)
  • Great communication skills
  • Problems solving and self-starter
