Hourly Counselor

San Joaquin Delta Community College District is looking for a temporary faculty member in Counseling & Special Services who aligns with the college's dedication to educating a diverse student population. • Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Develop comprehensive educational plans with students based on their goals.
  • Offer academic, career, transfer, and personal counseling to students.
  • Stay updated on counseling techniques and support strategies.
  • Collaborate with high schools and transfer institutions.
  • Instruct counseling courses and maintain course requirements.
  • Assess student progress and connect them with support services.
  • Participate in curriculum evaluation and selection of instructional materials.
  • Ensure compliance with educational policies and procedures.
  • Engage in departmental committees and professional development activities.
  • Contribute to student equity and success initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to students and perform other faculty duties.
• Qualifications:
  • Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in counseling or related field. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) license.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Experience in diverse settings and innovative teaching techniques.
