Registered Nurse (RN), New Grad GEMS Acute Care Program
Work Arrangement:
- Full-time; Three 12-hour shifts - 36 hours per week
- Day shift (7a-7p) OR night shift (7p-7a) available
Program Overview:
The GEMS Acute Care Program is an 18-month initiative aimed at providing new nurses with foundational experience in acute care across Duke Health's hospitals in Durham and Raleigh, North Carolina. This program offers a structured approach for career development through unit rotations, mentorship, and educational seminars.
Nurses participating in this program will need to be registered with the North Carolina Board of Nursing by July 24, 2024. The program is set to commence on July 29, 2024.
Job Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include planning and delivering nursing care in line with established medical practices and organizational policies. Additionally, the role involves supervising care providers, contributing to patient care delivery, maintaining the care environment, and engaging in continuous professional development.
Job Qualifications:
- No prior experience necessary
- Completion of the DUHS Vizient Nurse Residency Program within 12 months of hire
- Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina and BLS certification required
