K-6 Teacher Licensure or Media Specialist Licensure required.

ELEMENTARY EDUCATION LICENSURE

  • Candidates must hold and be HQ in the Elementary K license area.
  • Non-licensed, residency licensure candidates are eligible based upon holding a Bachelor's degree with a minimum 2.7 GPA, and 24 semester hours of related courses; OR passing scores on the Pearson Foundations of Reading test AND either the Praxis 7813 Math test or the Math subtest of the Pearson General Curriculum test.
  • Examples of related courses include:
  • Birth-Kindergarten, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, English/Language Arts, Family Studies, Mathematics, Psychology, Reading, Sciences, Social Studies, Sociology
  • Eligibility for the residency entry license must be established prior to a contract offer.
MEDIA SPECIALIST LICENSURE
  • Candidates must hold or be eligible to hold a current license in Media
  • Current, unrestricted licensed teachers are eligible for provisional Media area and will have five years to complete the master's level school Media license requirements.
  • Non-licensed, provisional licensure candidates are eligible based upon holding a Bachelor's degree in Media or 18 graduate semester hours applicable towards a School Media Coordinator program. The program must be completed within five years of the effective date of the license.
  • Eligibility for the provisional license must be established prior to a contract offer.
