Physicians lead change toward greater progress in Veteran care spanning all areas of medicine.With access to state-of-the-art technologies and pioneering research opportunities, they challenge the boundaries of health care to develop innovative treatment options that improve patient outcomes.
VA fosters excellence through mentorship, leadership, and educational programs, giving physicians the tools they need to serve Veterans best.Be an integral member of the Dermatology clinic and provide medical oversight.
Provide care for conditions including, evaluating patients' skin condition, assess and updating patients' medical history, keeping a record of patients' symptoms,
Analyze all information regarding skin health conditions, prescribe medication, inform patients about available treatments, monitor the effectiveness of skin treatments,
Conduct non-intrusive medical surgeries, educate patients on preventive skin care, refer patients to other specialists if needed.
Attend conferences and seminars to learn about new medical techniques and topics and provide inpatient treatment or recommendations of treatment through consultation to other providers in the ICU, ED or inpatient hospital setting.
Provide diagnosis and treatment for adult patients presenting with conditions that are applicable to his/her practice, training, experience or current competence.
Perform minor procedures per credentialing and privileging approvals.Recruitment/Relocation Incentive:
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement:
Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
CME:
Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)
Contract:
No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, Subject to change depending on the needs of the service.
