General Job Description

The Human Resources Intern will provide valuable support carrying out the day-to-day activities in the Human Resources Department. They will have the opportunity to cross all areas of HR, including but not limited to: benefits, recruiting, onboarding, training, compliance, file maintenance, and more. This is an excellent opportunity to get real hands-on experience in a wide range of Human Resources activities. The individual will work closely with the members of the Human Resources Department and a variety of professional staff, to acquire valuable practical experience. This is a full-time, seasonal, non-exempt position, reporting to the Assistant Director of Human Resources.

Duties/Responsibilities

Support onboarding activities such as creating personnel files and compiling orientation packages.

Conduct ad hoc research on Human Resources and compliance topics.

Assist with coordinating candidate travel and creating interview packages.

Assist with the coordination of training programs.

Assist with preparation for open enrollment and various support in the benefits program.

Provide general administrative support, including assisting with the maintenance of files, maintaining spreadsheets, and updated forms and departmental lists.

Assist with employee morale events and other corporate-sponsored activities.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be pursuing, or have recently completed, a degree in human resources, industrial and organizational psychology, business administration, or other related fields.

High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.

Strong desire to grow as a professional in human resources.

Persistent, questioning attitude and ability to accept that in others.

Motivated to expand skills and knowledge, as well as tackle new problems and take on new responsibilities.
