Facility Specific Requirement:

This role entrusts the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Aides with responsibilities.

Tasks include patient-centered activities involving assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation following occupational therapy standards, physician directives, and organizational policies.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess the patient's function through formal/informal testing measures to evaluate skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive functions.
  • Create a customized treatment plan based on assessment data and patient's ability to execute the plan.
  • Submit a treatment plan in writing to be included in the authorized treatment plan coordinated with the physician.
  • Adjust the care plan as needed based on changes in patient status. Co-sign verbal orders received by the occupational therapist assistant when required.
  • Develop a treatment schedule, considering frequency and duration, in consultation with the patient/family/caregiver and in collaboration with clinical support staff.
  • Educate the patient, family, and/or caregiver about the condition, available treatment options, prognosis, and treatment rationale using rest, exercise, modalities, and other interventions as needed.
  • Offer supervision to Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students in compliance with affiliate and regulatory guidelines.

This client offers a 2% rebate on all billings for this assignment; passthrough expenses are exempt from rebates. Refer to the SSP Master Agreement for further details.

OT Experience - Required
Primarily Outpatient with Acute Care Setting
Pediatric Experience - Preferred
