Job Title: Community Health Aide (CHA)

Qualifications for a CHA Trainee (CHA-T):

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Compliance with the Community Health Aide Program Certification Board Standards and Procedures for CHA-T

Additional Qualifications for CHA I:

  • Completion of the mathematic/TABE Test at the 6th Grade level
  • Completion of Emergency Trauma Technician (ETT) or Emergency Medical Technician certification maintained throughout employment
  • Successful completion of Session I of CHA training program with at least 80% grade
  • Enrollment as individual rendering providers with Alaska Medicaid

Additional Qualifications for CHA II:

  • Completion of Session II of CHA training program with at least 80% grade

Additional Qualifications for CHA III:

  • Completion of Session III of CHA training program with at least 80% grade
  • Preparation for and acquisition of additional CHA III Medical Standing Orders (MSOs)

Additional Qualifications for CHA IV:

  • Completion of Session IV of CHA training program with at least 80% grade

Additional Qualifications for CHA Practitioner:

  • Current certification as a Practitioner by the CHA Program Certification Board (CHAPCB)
