Job Summary:
This is a unique one year position created for a physician who has recently completed preventive medicine residency. It offers an opportunity to continue to hone skills that will prepare them for for the job market. The position offers opportunities for academic program leadership, teaching, research and scholarship.

Additionally, the fellow will support clinical quality improvement projects residents complete at the Access Community Health Center Wingra Family Medical Clinic.


Responsibilities:
Research (60%)

  • Support residents in scholarly activity.
  • Analyze, interpret, and document program findings.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for grant deliverables/outcomes.
Education (40%)

  • Assist with clinical quality improvement curriculum development within the preventive medicine residency program.
  • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of a new clinical quality improvement rotation.
  • Support weekly residency academic activities including but not limited to teaching, presenting, assisting in identification of speakers, mentoring residents, and evaluation of didactic components.
  • Problem-solve curriculum and rotation challenges, as applicable.
  • Support residents in scholarly activity.
  • Assist in teaching Master of Public Health and other classes as needed.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a preventive medicine residency program and board certification or board eligibility in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine by time of appointment required.
  • Experience with teaching, curriculum development, and/or grant writing preferred.
  • Experience with teaching medical students or residents preferred.
  • Experience with program quality improvement preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Scientific writing skills demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications and/or grant writing.
  • Ability to acquire accurate, reproducible data.
  • Critical eye towards consistency, reproducibility, and the scientific method in general.
  • Excellent project and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills.

Work Type:
Full Time: 100%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Appointment Type, Duration:
Terminal, 12 month appointment.

This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding

Salary:
Minimum $75,903 ANNUAL (12 months)
