Are you passionate about fundraising in higher education? The University of Illinois Foundation is seeking individuals to take part in a comprehensive training program aiming to kickstart careers in frontline fundraising and gift planning within the University of Illinois System's campuses in Champaign-Urbana, Chicago, and Springfield. As a Gift Planning Fellow, you will be a key member of the Office of Gift Planning and Trust Services (GPTS). Throughout the program, you will receive a competitive salary, benefits, and take part in the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Graduate Trainee Program. Collaborate with the Planned Giving Initiative alongside Norfolk State University (NSU) and Delaware State University (DSU). Get all the details on the UIF website.

This is an on-site role based in Champaign, Illinois, with some travel involved.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Stay updated on fundraising practices, tax laws, and industry standards.
  • Assist in creating donor proposals and acknowledgements.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and donors.
  • Explore new ways to engage with prospects.
  • Take on special projects related to Planned Giving Initiative.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree by June 2024.
  • Experience in building relationships and teamwork.
  • Passion for higher education advancement.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Exemplify UIF's values in all interactions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in business, finance, or related field.
  • Experience in advancement, accounting, or data management.
