Director of Campus Ministry - start date July 1, 2024
This role exists to support and implement the Mission of Magnificat High School.

The Director of Campus Ministry leads the Campus Ministry Department's efforts to nurture and develop the spiritual lives of our students.

The Director is responsible for the collaborative development, implementation, and evaluation of faith formation programs in prayer and liturgy, retreats, service, and social justice that foster the holistic growth of the students and faith life of our school community and reflect the Catholic Identity of the school and the mission and heritage of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary.

Classification:
Exempt, Full Time- 40 hours per week, 48 weeks per year (off month of July)

Position Summary:

  • Serves as a spiritual leader within the school community
  • Designs and oversees programs and events to meet the spiritual needs of students and to promote their growth in
faith and integration of faith into all aspects of life
  • Accompanies and mentors students in their spiritual development
  • Promotes student engagement and leadership development in campus ministry and school life
● Regularly evaluates programs for mission and ministry effectiveness and adapts and creates new programs in response
to the needs of students, the school community, and our times● Supervises and leads the Campus Ministry team and supports ministerial and leadership formation for the Campus
Ministry team
  • Collaborates with the Theology Department to implement school-wide faith formation programs
● Promotes adult participation in Campus Ministry programs as volunteers and prepares them to accompany, mentor,
and lead students in these programs
  • Creates long-range strategic goals and plans campus ministry programs
● Represents the Campus Ministry department internally at Department Chairs, Directors, and other
meetings/committees as needed
  • Develops and manages the annual budget for the Campus Ministry Department
  • Represents Magnificat High School through participation in Diocesan initiatives
  • Collaborates with parents and families as partners to support the spiritual life of students
● Communicates with administrators, faculty and staff, students, and families about Campus Ministry programs and
initiatives● Acts in a manner consistent with the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church, the Sisters of the Humility of Mary,
and the Mission and Values of Magnificat High School.● In collaboration with the Vice President of Mission and Campus Ministry team members, integrates the Mission and
Values of Magnificat High School, Catholic Identity, and the Heritage of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary into campus ministry programs and events and the daily life of the school

  • Promotes the ongoing creation of a loving, equitable, and inclusive school community that respects the racial, ethnic, religious, and socio-economic diversity of all students and where all students feel valued
  • Employs a restorative approach in relationships with students, families, and staff

Other Duties and Expectations
  • Responds appropriately and promptly to communication from parents, students, administrators, and colleagues
● Develops cultural competency through increased awareness of individual identity, culture, and biases

  • In all areas of responsibility work to build a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative community with students, colleagues, parents, and others
  • Ability to work extended days, evenings and weekends periodically, as needed

Education:

  • B.A. in Theology, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministry, or related field required; Master's in Theology, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministry, or related field preferred
  • Must be a practicing Catholic who witnesses the Catholic faith and models Catholic values.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum three years in campus ministry, youth ministry, or related fields
  • Experience in a Catholic school setting and supervising staff preferred
  • Must have experience at the high school level.

  • A team player with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of people and groups.
  • Demonstrates inclusive leadership skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to integrate Catholic teaching and spirituality to the various dimensions of the Campus Ministry programs.
  • Strong understanding of the spiritual, moral, and social-emotional development of adolescent girls
  • Demonstrates respect for self, others, creation, and God and the integration of faith and justice
  • Strong belief and skill in student leadership development
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Openness to growth and feedback
  • A commitment to confidentiality and good judgment on sensitive matters is essential
  • Strong computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Word, and Google Workspace
  • Ability to work extended days, evenings, and weekends periodically, as needed.
