Job Title: Technologist

The MCT Department at Labcorp is in search of a Technologist to contribute to our laboratory operations. In this role, you will undergo training to handle various aspects of sample processing from pre-analysis to post-analysis. Our lab focuses on screening different sample types for drugs of abuse and conducting Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) and STAT testing for local healthcare facilities. Utilizing immunoassay methodology, specifically Beckman Coulter AU5800 Chemistry analyzers, we test samples, with some assays requiring chemical extraction before analysis.

Shift: 3rd

Schedule:
- Wednesday - Saturday, 9:00 pm - 7:30 am
- Third shift: 15% shift differential pay on top of the hourly base
(Overtime may be necessary)

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Receive and assess specimens for testing
  • Adhere to SOP for sample extractions and analysis
  • Prepare laboratory reagents and standard solutions
  • Evaluate data accuracy and interpret results
  • Maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation
  • Follow quality control procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience
  • ASCP or AMT certification preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Proficiency with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
  • Must pass a standardized color vision screen
  • Flexible to work overtime or alternate shifts as needed
