Position: HVAC Pipefitter - Mechanical Construction

Location: Wallingford, CT

Type: Permanent-Full Time

Compensation: $70,000 to $110,000 (Commensurate with Experience)

About the Position: The HVAC Pipefitter plays a crucial role in the company's HVAC service and installation team, responsible for installing and repairing HVAC equipment and piping systems. The ideal candidate must excel in fabricating and installing various HVAC piping systems, ensuring work is done according to codes and standards, within budget, and on time. This position requires maintaining high-quality performance, excellent customer relationships, and effective communication with team members.

Job Duties and Functions:

• Install and repair mechanical piping such as hot water, chilled water, steam, refrigeration, condensate, and natural gas.
• Skills in soldering, brazing, threading, grooved, and pressed connections.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and drawings.
• Coordinate work from start to finish, including material gathering and staying within time limits.
• Knowledge of demolition, equipment, and pipe removal.
• Expertise in Core-boring, Fire stopping, and sleeve installations.
• Coordinate piping layout with project stakeholders.
• Provide progress updates and address any issues that may arise.
• Create detailed service tickets and monitor project inventory.
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and company procedures.
• Available for overtime during peak seasons.
• Physically capable of lifting components and climbing ladders.
• Work collaboratively to achieve customer satisfaction.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Education - HVAC Technical School or associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• License - CT D2 or S-2 Heating and Cooling Journeyman's license and valid driver's license required.
• Must have experience in HVAC systems and components.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical construction.
