Step Into Your New RoleKleinfelder is seeking a Field Biologist with a natural resources background to provide leadership and guidance on an on-call basis.

Kleinfelder is seeking a field biologist to support with a public sector project, in northern California. The individual will assist on an as-needed basis to support field survey crews, monitoring staff, and complete technical reports. Specifically, seeking individuals located in and around the Sacramento Area.

The individual(s) will largely work remote and in the field, but will report to the nearest office as needed, and direct supervisor in Auburn, California.


Job Responsibilities:


Providing environmental regulatory compliance for our clients through surveys for protected species, compliance monitoring for work crews, and written logs and reports of compliance activities.

Conducting focused and general preconstruction surveys (nesting birds, rare plants, and amphibian surveys)

Conducting Biological Constraints Reports (Desktop Reviews)

Comfortable working in physically challenging outdoor environments in all types of weather

Traveling on a regular basis to a project which may require overnight stays

Strong technical and academic background in an applied biological science

Effective problem-solving ability

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience with MS Office

The ability to work both independently and with a team

Fluency in Spanish language a plus

Must has a satisfactory driving record and complete a background check
Position Requirements: 2+ years of relevant field experience

Prior experience in natural resource consulting or restoration is desirable

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in biology or a related field

Preferred Skills/Experience:4+ years of professional environmental consulting experience

Experience with environmental review processes (CEQA/NEPA)

Extensive field work throughout northern California (anticipate overnight travel 75% of time)

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Equal Pay Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
