Monitor and provide technical support for corporate LAN, Microsoft Exchange, and other Microsoft servers.

The IT Specialist III oversees the maintenance of company computer systems. Their duties include responding to employee concerns, drafting documents to help employees use computer systems, and coordinating with company leadership to determine new technologies to enhance their computer systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  2. Work with user accounts throughout their lifecycle, including creation, transfer, and termination.
  3. Work with Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online, including user accounts, mailbox management, and security settings.
  4. Apply Group Policy Objects (GPOs) as directed to users and computers within Active Directory for consistent system configurations.
  5. Monitor enterprise backup procedures using Veeam, ensuring data integrity and efficient recovery.
  6. Lead specialists for computer deployments and refresh cycles, ensuring timely and efficient rollouts. Follow documented work instructions to?set up, personalize, and deploy new client systems.
  7. Work with the phone system, including adding users, supporting users, making changes, and troubleshooting.
  8. Develop and maintain comprehensive IT documentation and reports.
  9. Work with file servers to apply security permissions and user access.
  10. Participate in the team providing IT help desk support by telephone, in-person, and remote access.
  11. Document IT-related issues and requests utilizing our IT Service Desk application.
  12. Provide advance support to all IT team members.
  13. Contact appropriate support organizations for hardware and software maintenance.
  14. Maintain IT asset management by documenting changes in the IT databases.
  15. Assist in the development and participation of user training.
  16. Assist in the research of computing technologies for infrastructure advancement.
  17. Submit at least four Douglas Improvement Projects (DIPS) annually.
  18. Keep lab and work areas organized.
  19. Responsible for complying with all safety policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a related IT support role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server administration.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy management.
  • Experience working with Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online.
  • Familiarity with Veeam or similar enterprise backup solutions.
  • Experience managing hardware assets and performing computer deployments.
  • Knowledgeable about MS PowerShell scripting language.
  • Knowledge of phone system administration (VoIP preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • An associate or bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience or 5+ years of direct work experience related to the responsibilities of this position can be considered a substitution for education requirements.
