Growing BUSY medical billing company, is in need of an ENTRY LEVEL - Billing Assistant.

PLEASE HAVE NO LESS THAN 3 YEAR, BUT NO MORE THAN 6 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE.

THIS IS NOT A REMOTE OR TELEWORK POSITION


This is considered an entry level billing position, you will work under the direction and supervision of the Senior Billers.

This position can eventually lead to a senior biller.

Hours and Compensation
Approximately 36 to 40 hours p/w position, we currently have a 4 day work week (Tuesday through Friday).


The main responsibility of this position is the research, payment posting and denials and appeals on unpaid claims, assisting the senior biller with claim submission and other duties as assigned.


Job Duties

  • Unpaid claim research
  • Obtain referrals and preauthorizations as required for procedures
  • Check eligibility and benefit verification, when required
  • Insurance payment posting
  • Data Entry
  • Assist biller's with other areas as it pertains to unpaid claims

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Mental Health billing experience will be VERY helpful
  • Some knowledge of HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements and systems
  • Effective communication and customer service skills for interacting with insurance payers, providers and patients to resolve issues
  • Able to work in a team environment, but capable of working independently
  • Problemsolving skills, ability to "think" outside the box and take initiative
  • Quicklearner and a gogetter
  • Knowledge of medical terminology likely to be encountered in medical claims
  • Knowledge of coinsurances, deductibles, out of pockets and authorizations

Pay:
$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
