Education/experience
Must have an advanced degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which equates to an advanced degree. At least three years of progressively responsible experience in a registrar's office, or other academic/student services office at an institution of higher education.
Job Summary
The Associate Registrar provides essential leadership and supervisory support for the Office of the Registrar, including overseeing the areas of registration and withdrawal, domicile, change of program of study, graduation, and Registrars Office systems. Major contributor to development of the academic catalog and degree audit coding, as well as curriculum process support. Oversees the customer service area of the Registrar's Office and all course registration and registration-related activities at the University. Supports the readmission process for the University. Oversees the non-degree seeking application process, including application review and being a resource for students, directing them to the appropriate departments for approvals, etc. Assists with maintaining Registrar's Office website. Member of the office management team tasked with assisting in the overall management of the Registrar's Office.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of all business processes related to curriculum and course development and approval process, retention related applications, e.g., Degree Works, and degree conferral process.
- Extensive project management experience designing and implementing systems relied upon by a registrar's office and university to deliver essential services.
- Demonstrated analytical ability to effectively interpret complex policies and procedures, collect, compile, and interpret student data, and report and make recommendations to campus-wide offices on policies and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills to establish priorities, delegate workloads, and manage multiple activities to meet the needs of a Registrar's Office and other offices campus-wide.
- Extensive experience using and supporting relational databases, degree audits, and report preparation applications.
- Proven record of successful supervisory, management, and leadership in a higher education environment.
Knowledge of and experience using and maintaining Banner Student, DegreeWorks, Ad Astra or similar scheduling application, Cognos or other reporting tool, and document imaging applications such as Xtender.
