MH/SA Clinician

General Position Description:
Individuals in this role are recognized as licensed behavioral health professionals who meet the necessary qualifications for NC Qualified Professionals. They may offer services to individuals dealing with substance abuse and/or mental health issues. Responsibilities consist of conducting screenings and evaluations, developing Person-Centered Plans, connecting individuals to community resources, leading group activities, providing counseling, offering life skills training, managing diseases, conducting drug screens, and supervising unlicensed staff.
Performance Expectations and Competencies
Must demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality treatment services that meet the needs of individuals, accrediting bodies, and service purchasers.
Performance tasks include:
- Performing screenings, evaluations, and developing Person-Centered Plans.
- Facilitating counseling sessions and educational groups.
- Utilizing clinical supervision effectively.
- Adhering to the PCC Employee Code of Ethics.
- Providing supervision to various professionals.
- Ensuring coverage of child/youth services at all times.
- Maintaining accurate documentation as per agency policy.
- Submitting service and billing documentation promptly.
- Meeting productivity standards.
- Coordinating services and resources for consumers.
- Attending training and continuing education sessions.
Must meet NC Credentialing standards as a Qualified Professional.
Attends various training sessions as required.
Specialized training for different populations.
- Must work effectively in teams and maintain positive relationships.
- Completing tasks assigned by Chief Clinical Officer.
General Knowledge, Skill, and Competencies:
General Knowledge of behavioral health disorders and their impact on individuals and families; crisis response techniques; community resources available to individuals with behavioral health disorders; and billing/documentation requirements.
General Skill in needs assessment and intervention techniques, service delivery, and building professional relationships.
MH/SA Clinician II
· Requires Master's degree in a human services field and two years of relevant experience.
· Must have valid clinical licensure.
MH/SA Clinician III
· Requires Master's degree in a human services field and two years of relevant experience.
· Must have valid clinical licensure.
Additional Job Requirements:
· Must have reliable transportation and a driver's license.
· Must be adept at using telephone, fax, and computer systems.
· Must have effective communication skills.
· Occasional lifting/moving involved.
