Our Atlanta office is looking for a Project Accountant to join our Accounting team. We are moving from Dunwoody to Sandy Springs/Northridge in the near future.

Position Summary:

The Project Accountant ensures accurate financial reporting within Envision Construction's ERP investigates discrepancies between the ERP and project management software, and follows up with appropriate parties for the resolution on discrepancies. Committed to excellent customer service, the Project Accountant serves internal teams, external clients, and subcontractors, all while maintaining financial integrity and accuracy for both projects and company financial health.

Job Responsibilities:Contract Management:
  • Follow up on approved change orders to ensure accurate reflection in contract values and financial statements.
  • Work with Project Managers to address negative committed balances on subcontracts.
  • Collaborate with Contract Expeditors to resolve compliance issues with subcontractors promptly, ensuring timely payment release.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of data between Sage Intacct, Sage Contract.
  • Management and GC Pay to maintain financial records.
General Ledger:
  • Reconcile cash daily for all assigned bank accounts.
  • Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations on all accounts monthly.
  • Post General Journals as required for an accurate general ledger.
  • Prepare and review the initial P&L compilations, adjusting as necessary, prior to the Director of Finance & Accounting review.
  • Assist in financial reporting and variance analysis.
  • Support audit activities and ensure adherence to accounting standards.
Job Cost:
  • Support Project Managers in preparing cost reports for Project Status Review meetings.
  • Address cost-related inquiries and adjustments as requested by the Project Manager.
  • Process cost reallocations and budget adjustments in Intacct following project team
  • approvals.
  • Regularly review project financial reports for accuracy.
  • Attend Project Status Review meetings, as requested by project teams.
  • Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, reconciliation, and financial analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with project contracts and regulatory requirements, including federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
  • Monitor project expenses and revenue recognition.
  • Collaborate with project managers to optimize financial performance.
  • Participate in project budget development and revisions.
  • Maintain project-related documentation and records.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to project teams.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of Construction Accounting experience is required with emphasis on meaningful experience in the following areas:
    • Job Cost
    • General Ledger
    • Contract Management
  • Strong hands-on experience with Spreadsheets, Project Management, ERP Software (Intacct preferred), and GC Pay (or similar subcontractor payment system).
  • Knowledge of accounting operations and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with consistent attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Confident and challenge-oriented with a focus on delivering results.

The base compensation range is $75,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on experience.
